Singapore to Bangkok via the Eastern & Orient Express – 1997. The E&O is a first class luxury train that runs between Singapore and Thailand with stops in Malaysia. The trip is four days with three nights on the train. Tours along the way included Georgetown on Penang Island, Fort Cornwallis and the Bridge over the River Kwai. The train had 3 dining cars, a bar car, a Saloon car with a boutique and library/reading room and a second bar and observation deck at the rear of the train. We also spend several days in Bangkok and visited the ancient city of Ayutthaya and Bang Pa-In Palace (Summer Palace). Also see EO Trip Article
